Meet Mitchell: Managing Partner

Mitchell Wilson is the founder of Iowa Fractional Human Resources and a passionate advocate for small businesses. With a SHRM-CP certification and a ongoing Master’s degree in Human Resources, Mitchell blends his education with real-world experience supporting growing teams across multiple industries.


Throughout his career, Mitchell has worked as a one-person HR department, helping small businesses build their HR foundation from the ground up. He understands the challenges of balancing compliance, culture, and day-to-day people operations, especially when time and resources are tight.


Mitchell was drawn to HR by a belief that businesses and employees should grow together, not at the expense of one another. He’s passionate about working with small business owners, whose hands-on leadership and deep personal investment in their teams create opportunities for people-first HR.


When he's not supporting clients, you’ll find Mitchell tending to his ever-growing collection of houseplants, checking out new restaurants around Des Moines, enjoying various teas from local vendors, or diving into the latest HR trends to keep his knowledge sharp. He’s a lifelong learner, a firm believer in approachable HR, and a partner who’s always ready to roll up his sleeves and help businesses thrive.
